The History Of Autumn Lake, The Series And what a strange story it is! Autumn Lake was created, in one way or another, over the span of ten years. As a child, I would sketch out different soap-like plots and jot down character ideas. In 1998, I discovered the online websoap community and found several folks with the same interests I have. Particularly, I was impressed with sites like Covington Bay, Footprints and About Schuyler Falls. Each of these sites seemed to represent what I loved most about the serial drama format: the emphasis of character over plot. I launched Autumn Lake as a daily soap in the winter of 1998. Over the next three years, the series went through many transformations before finally falling into a semi-permanent retirement in early 2000. During the hiatus, I have received several emails from devoted readers asking when/if AL would return. In the 2001 "Eppy Awards," Autumn Lake was voted as "Favorite Non-Current Series" in the Audience Choice Awards. Now, with our domain finally in place and new, re-tooled episodes ready to roll, we're giving this another shot. I hope you all enjoy it. About The Author Aaron Mullins, AL's creator and primary author, was born in 1974 and grew up in Delaware. In addition to Autumn Lake, Aaron has written a sophomore series, Singers In America, and for the now-defunct commercial websoap Newport. Aaron has contributed several pieces to the Episodic Review and serves as Founder and Moderator of the Yahoo! Online Soap Operas Club. Disclaimers
