Emily felt abandoned when her mother suddenly left town three years ago.  Currently, Em's primary focus is on her passion for music and her relationship with Kyle Marshak.  Raised with old-fashioned values, Emily is also holding onto her virginity until marriage, a point that causes some tension in she and Kyle's relationship.
